Another area of focus for the Ares team is mREITs. Unlike equity REITs that own the real estate and pass on rents to investors, mREITs make or purchase real estate loans or mortgages, using leverage to generate high yields.
MASTER LIMITED PARTNERSHIPS (MLPS) OVERVIEW
The Ares team will invest in midstream energy, predominantly MLPs. These companies own the nation’s pipelines and other energy infrastructure and pay out a large percentage of their income to investors.
